The Black Diamond LiteWire Carabiner is a lightweight, durable, and versatile wiregate carabiner designed for trad climbing. Its hot-forged construction allows for weight savings where possible, while material has been placed where strength and durability are most needed. The LiteWire features a larger rope-bearing surface, which contributes to better durability for both the carabiner and the rope, as well as optimized nose geometry that makes it smooth to clip and unclip. The hinge-basket design helps keep the sling of a Camalot, for example, in place, making the carabiner well-suited for racking protection and building a light, efficient trad rack.
