Meran MFS Comfort Fit (Wide) GTX Boot

The Meran GTX Comfort fit is suitable for those with slightly wider feet who need that extra space in width and height at the front of the shoe.

This model belongs to category A/B, meaning it is suitable for use in easier terrain, such as lighter hikes and walks on (gravel) roads, paths, or in forests with a small pack weighing 5–10 kg. It can be used all year round and made winter-ready with a wool sole + wool socks in winter.

Cork insole with a fleece layer for best ventilation. Inner lining in both leather and textile with GORE-TEX® membrane for 100% waterproofing and good breathability. The Meran also features MFS® – Memory Foam System – which is a foam in the heel area that molds to your foot with the help of body heat, providing a perfect individual fit.

Outsole: Meindl Multigrip® Rubber grip sole with PU midsole for good shock absorption.

The insoles from the Comfort fit® series are functionally developed and extremely comfortable.

Comfort fit® "Hiking" footbedd - Comes with the more stable Meindl models. Footbed with a continuous cork bed and a shock absorber at the heel for direct cushioning in the heel area. Practically glue-free connection - This means that the cork retains its permeability and can breathe perfectly. In combination with the good moisture absorption capacity of the cover and fleece, the footbed ensures a dry sole - an important prerequisite for long-term climate comfort. The cushion on the midfoot supports the foot muscles and provides an upright and secure gait.

Find the right size

Remember that air insulates! Do not choose too small a size – you should be able to wiggle and twist your toes in your shoes. We recommend that boots are about 10 mm longer than your foot length to allow space for e.g. extra socks or insoles, and because feet swell slightly during a day's hike.

The right socks

To achieve optimal climate comfort, it is really important to choose the best sock for the intended use. The function of the GORE-TEX® membrane is not affected by the socks worn with the shoe, but wearing the right sock can have a significant positive impact on the perceived climate comfort and also prevent discomfort such as blisters.

Look for the right material blend: 100% cotton absorbs a lot of moisture and releases it very slowly. The moisture stays next to your feet and your feet start to feel cold. That's why a blend of high-quality wool (e.g., Merino) and synthetic fibers (e.g., polyester, polyamide) is best.

Care for your shoes and boots before first use!

All Meindl's shoes and boots are indeed impregnated at the factory, but care products are volatile. So, impregnate or wax your shoes before first use.
